Hi. I’m A. Seth Young. I freelance in an ambit shaped by prior roles at NYC-based Data & Society Research Institute and at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University.
I helped build Data & Society from the ground up, working with the founder on most everything needed to start up and grow a research organization, after which I served as an advisor.
In my run at BKC, I worked across the center’s many activities, assisting the executive director and, as part of an enterprising core team, managing the center’s communications efforts.
My current professional preoccupation is the fate of organizations that produce knowledge about the effects of technology on society—good, bad, neutral—even in the teeth of those effects.
